We have been consulting with the local community for several years now over our plans to establish a gas storage operation at our existing Albury gasfield near Guildford in Surrey. This website was set up to keep people informed.
An appraisal drilling programme was completed at the Albury wellsite in April 2010 and we have subsequently undertaken a comprehensive assessment of the results. Having done so, we advised Albury Parish Council on 23 June 2011 that we have no immediate plans to progress gas storage.
We are, however, hoping to secure approval in the short term for a low-key project that seeks to harness gas that already exists in the field as the basis for an increasingly important low-carbon commercial vehicle fuel.
